Team MillHan is looking to bounce back this week. They have been stuck in a slump the past few weeks. They have one top 5 finish in their last five races and have finished outside the top 15 in three of those races.
Team manager Deac Mill was asked about the upcoming schedule and the mental state of his riders. "The schedule is going to be a tough one. We are racing on Monday in the Turek GP, Tuesday in the Kiddesvej Grandprix and Thursday in the Plettenberg-Bergkamen race. The younger guys are going to ride on Thursday for us to give Speers, Pinson and Cong a day off. But that will be short lived we plan to have them ride at least two races next week as well. As far as the 'mental state' of my riders just ask them. They are ready to ride and excited to finish the last half of the season strong. Hopefully with a couple of top finishes we will be able to send a couple of guys off to training camp."
Carlton Speers said, "If you ask me its gonna be good next couple of weeks. We plan on riding as many races as we can. I am looking forward to pushing myself over the next few weeks. Hopefully I can catch a break here and there and get a win. My best finish is 4th in the Nagoya Climb race. I would really like to get a win before the end of the season. We'll see how it goes."
Ezra Pursley was asked about leading the team in upcoming Plettenberg-Bergkamen race. "Wow! I am a little nervous to be honest. It is a big responsibility to captain a team. This will be my first chance to lead the guys out and show them I am ready and willing to do what it takes to get the job done. I finished 3rd at the Omsk Gp last season on the back wheel of Shelley. I think this is a great opportunity for me to prove my worth to the team."
Team MillHan recently fell out of Division 6 and outside the top 20 in the USA rankings. Rumors of possible transfers and releases swirl as the team manager prepares to push his riders harder than they have ever been pushed. They are signed up to ride in three races this week. Team manager Deac Mill said they will be riding in at least two next week. MillHan will need to rest as much as they can between rides and during travel time if they expect to have a good run. It is possible that this effort to get a win and top finishes will result in an injury or two. To quote Carlton Speers, "We'll see how it goes."
